OVERVIEW
This course provides you with current and relevant skills preparing you for or enhancing existing employment in the Hospitality Industry.
Australian Food Safety Standards require that food handlers have relevant knowledge and skills in food safety and food hygiene to carry out their work.
Obtaining your RSF will assist with employment opportunities when working with food in cafes and restaurants, hotels, events, retail outlets, food trucks and kitchens. It will also be relevant for those working in the manufacturing, processing or transportation of food.
This course will cover the importance of food safety, serving and storing food, dealing with danger foods, personal hygiene, safety requirements for commercial food operations and pest control.
LOCATION
This course is delivered at Lonsdale Institute’s Melbourne campus, Level 4, 505 Little Collins St, Melbourne.
COURSE DURATION
One 4-hour session face to face.
WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU
Photo identification: Current Drivers Licence, Passport, Proof of Age card or Keypass.
Pen and notepad.
DELIVERY & ASSESMENT
Assessment will be comprised of written and multiple-choice questions, practical demonstration and active participation.
LEARNING OUTCOME
On completion you will receive a Nationally Recognised Statement of Attainment for the training course SITXFSA001- Use Hygienic Practices for Food Safety.
You will need to provide or create a USI prior to commencement of your course.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
An understanding of written and spoken English.
