This qualification reflects the role of individuals who apply knowledge, practical skills and experience in leadership and management across a range of enterprise and industry contexts.
Individuals at this level display initiative and judgement in planning, organising, implementing and monitoring their own workload and the workload of others. They use communication skills to support individuals and teams to meet organisational or enterprise requirements.
They plan, design, apply and evaluate solutions to unpredictable problems, and identify, analyse and synthesise information from a variety of sources.

This course delivery is interactive and team based, it provides for and encourages effective introspection and practical application through activities, workshops and directed research.
The course is 12 months long, having 40 weeks’ delivery in 10 week blocks with 2 week breaks – with an end of year break of 6 weeks.
Delivery and assessment are face to face, classroom based with a variety of methodologies applied, including group workshops, presentations and research reports.
Candidates may enter the qualification through entry points demonstrating potential to undertake vocational education and training at diploma level, including:
> Certificate IV or above in a related business field
or
> substantial vocational experience in a range of environments, acting in supervisor/middle management or management role; and
> Successful completion of 10 weeks of Business English or General English at Upper Intermediate level or IELTS (or equivalent) proficiency level of 5.5
