Diploma of Business

COURSE OVERVIEW

This qualification would apply to individuals with various job titles including executive officers, program consultants and program coordinators. Individuals in these roles may possess substantial experience in a range of settings, but seek to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions. Conversely, it may also apply to those with little or no vocational experience, but who possess sound theoretical business skills and knowledge that they would like to develop in order to create further educational and employment opportunities.

Delivery Approach and Mode

The delivery approach of this course is based on a timetable of 20 hours per week. The mode of delivery and assessment of this course may include lectures, group workshops, presentations, practical activities, some self-directed learning as well as research reports. These components will be supported by blended learning methodologies, face to face classroom-based learning and/or a flexible approach with online learning.

Up to 52 weeks (including holidays).

Delivery and Assessment

A variety of methods are incorporated into the course to accommodate different learning styles. These include, but are not limited to, project work, reports, observations, portfolio development, case study analysis, and individual presentations.

Entry Requirements

Demonstration of potential to undertake vocational education and training at diploma level including:

Completion of the BSB40207 Certificate IV in Business or other relevant qualifications

or

Demonstration of vocational experience in a range of work environments in a senior support role;

and

Students must be 18 years of age or over

International students require an English language proficiency score of 5.5 IELTS (or equivalent).

Pathways

After achieving the Diploma of Business, candidates may undertake an Advanced Diploma of Business or a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications. This course may also be used as a pathway into a Bachelor of Business.
