OVERVIEW

Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee for Beginners.  

This course provides you with current and relevant skills preparing you for or enhancing existing employment in the Hospitality Industry. In this barista course for beginners, you will get hands on training on a commercial coffee machine and grinder. 

You will be delivered an introduction to making coffee; selection and grind of coffee beans, dose, tamp and extraction of espresso, monitoring consistent quality of espresso, texturing of milk, organising your coffee station, serving and presenting coffee, machine and grinder cleaning and maintenance.

You will have access to unlimited coffee beans and milk to practice. Small groups per session ensure hands on training at the machine.

LOCATION

This course is delivered at Lonsdale Institute’s Melbourne campus, Level 4, 505 Little Collins St, Melbourne.  

COURSE DURATION

One 4-hour session face to face.


WHAT TO BRING WITH YOU

Your phone to make sure you grab a shot or two at the coffee machine.
Pen and notepad.

DELIVERY

Delivery will be via practical demonstration and active participation.

LEARNING OUTCOME

Certificate of Participation. Practical coffee making experience – how to make a range of espresso coffee items including cappuccino, latte and flat white.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

It is recommended that participants wear flat enclosed clothes and comfortable clothing. Long hair should be tied back.

Please note that due to the small number of participants in our classes, we are unable to offer refunds to learners who change their mind after purchasing a course or who do not attend the course on the day it is being held.

Change of Course Dates

Should you wish to change your course date then please email hello@highseason.com.au within 48 hours of the advertised course start time. Once received, we will do our best to move your booking to the next available date. However, please note that if a request is received via email within 48 hours of the advertised courses start time, we will be unable to accommodate your request.
