Diploma of Business

COURSE OVERVIEW

This qualification reflects the role of individuals with business experience in a range of settings who are seeking to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions. The Diploma of Business course is designed to provide the skills and knowledge in a broad range of industry requirements including:

> The development of communication;

> Conduct research to collect and analyse information from a range of reports;

> Consulting with others to develop plans and reports;

> Liaising with stakeholders;

> Promoting participative workplace arrangements;

> Negotiating solutions to new and emerging issues;

> Contributing to the development of other team members including the provision of feedback on team performance to colleagues and managers.

Location of Course Delivery

This course is delivered from Lonsdale Institute’s Melbourne and Sydney city campuses. Melbourne is located at 277 Flinders Lane, Melbourne, Victoria. Sydney is located at 72 Bathurst Street, Sydney, New South Wales.

Delivery Approach and Mode

Delivery of the course is based on 20 hours face to face delivery per week over a period of 20 weeks delivered over 1 semester. This course is only available as face to face delivery for overseas student visa holders but is also available online, classroom and blended delivery for other participants.

Course Duration

This course is delivered over 20 weeks. However, depending on the time of enrolment and holiday periods throughout the year, the total duration of the course could be up to 26 weeks (including holidays).

Delivery and Assessment

A variety of methods are incorporated into the course to accommodate different learning styles.

These include project work, reports, portfolio development as well as individual presentations.

Entry Requirements

Demonstration of potential to undertake vocational education and training at diploma level including:

Completion of the Certificate IV in Business qualification or other relevant qualifications

or

Demonstration of vocational experience in a range of work environments in a senior support role;

and

Students must be 18 years of age or over

International students require an English language proficiency score of 5.5 IELTS (or equivalent).

Pathways

After achieving the Diploma of Business, candidates may undertake an Advanced Diploma of Business or a range of other Advanced Diploma qualifications. This course may also be used as a pathway into a Bachelor of Business.
